CSPD Establishes Support Position for SB 694 - Meeting January 21 in Los Angeles, the Board of Directors of the California Society of Pediatric Dentistry voted unanimously to adopt Support in Principle position on Senate Bill 694 (Padilla). CDA's Access Proposal Presented to CSPD Board - Representative of CDA presented the Final Draft of Access Proposal: Phased Strategies for Reducing Barriers to Dental Care in California to CSPD's leadership. School Absences for Dental Appointments - California Education Code specifically provides that absences for dental care shall be excused. CSPD and CDA have created a joint statement to address concerns of parents and/or school administrations regarding these professional visits. CSPD has developed a template for a School Attendance Release Form which may be downloaded and customized by members for individual office printing and distribution. Mobile/Portable Dental Care Provider Guidelines - Read more about this effort, led by the California Dental Association and the Dental Health Foundation, to assist school districts approached by mobile/portable dental care providers, in the ALARM.
