About the Warren Brandli Internship (WBI) Program

CSPD is accepting applications for the Warren Brandli Leadership Intern program for 2015-2016. This wonderful opportunity for leadership development is a program specifically designed for current pediatric dental residents or colleagues who are in their first 5 year period after completing their postgraduate training. The objective of the program is to introduce the selected intern to the inner workings of CSPD, including the art of organizational governance and the importance of child advocacy. This will help set the stage for providing young hopeful leaders the knowledge and confidence necessary to further become involved with CSPD, AAPD, CDA and other dental and related organizations. The internship serves as the true breeding ground for our future leaders in pediatric dentistry.

Participation within the program will require the intern to attend and participate in all CSPD and CSPD Foundation board of director meetings for the organizational year. The CSPD supports the participant's travel and lodging expenses. The intern will be assigned a leadership mentor who will guide him or her throughout the year.

The Leadership Development Committee thanks you for your interest and your dedication to the mission and goals of CSPD.

Current WBI

Dr. Angela H. Lee, DMD
Angela Lee grew up in Culver City, CA, and completed her undergraduate studies in Integrative Biology and Education at UC Berkeley. Angela then pursued dual D.M.D. and M.P.H. degrees at A.T. Still University – Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health (ASDOH). She assumed leadership positions in dental outreach and advocacy with the Arizona Dental Association, Maricopa County Office of Oral Health, and local chapters of the American Student Dental Association and the American Academy of Developmental Medicine and Dentistry. During dental school, Angela completed clinical rotations in federally qualified health centers all over the country, and volunteered on a dental mission trip to Cambodia. She is passionate about providing quality oral health care and plans to continue working with underserved children. Upon graduating from ASDOH, Angela was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society. Angela is currently entering her third year of residency at UCSF and serving as chief resident.

Dr. Jonathan M. Stephens, DDS
Jonathan Stephens was born and raised in Long Beach, California. He attended Brigham Young University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science. During this time, he took 2 years away from school to be a missionary in Colorado and Kansas, living in Hispanic communities and learning Spanish. He later attended Loma Linda University School of Dentistry, where he earned his DDS degree with honors in Pediatric Dentistry. While in dental school, Jonathan volunteered at various community dental clinics, providing dental care for the underserved people in Southern California’s Inland Empire. He also traveled abroad to Nicaragua, where he provided dental treatment to children who would otherwise not receive dental care. He is now a member of the Pediatric Dentistry Class of 2017 at the University of Southern California, and is enjoying living in Long Beach again. Jonathan loves to surf, fish, and spend time with his wife Rachael and two children, Lynnlee and Klein.
