A wonderful opportunity to serve as the next CSPD Executive Director is now available! CSPD's Policy & Procedure Manual (Section V. Executive Director) is soon to be updated with the highlighted amendments to further define the position's roles and responsibilities. CSPD hopes the new Executive Director will start in April 2018

The finalist will be able to build upon a solid legacy left by Drs. Tom Barber, Mel Rowan, Ray Stewart and Andy Soderstrom who have all served in this position. We encourage those who are interested in this leadership opportunity to review the job description and P&P manual. CSPD's desire is to have the next Executive Director continue as the leading voice for pediatric dentistry in California and work closely with CSPD leadership to move the organization forward. Candidates will need to submit a letter of interestCV and three reference letters. The CSPD Executive Director Search Committee consists of Drs. Dave Okawachi, Jacob Lee, Jonathon Lee, Suzy Tavana, Nancy Hsieh and Don Schmitt. Committee members are available to answer questions or provide insight. 

A. ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES

  1. Communicate with the CSPD Association Management Company (AMC) on a constant and routine basis.
  2. Along with the AMC be responsible for all Society records.
  3. Supervise and be responsible for an updated membership list.
  4. Supervise the AMC with the publication of a yearly directory.
  5. Communicate with CSPD Membership as directed by the CSPD President, Executive Committee, Procedure Manual or Bylaws.
  6. Communicate with health associations, consumer groups and individuals as directed by the CSPD President, Executive Committee, Procedure Manual or Bylaws.
  7. Along with the AMC, prepare a Board of Directors meeting packet of reports provided by officers, committee chairs and sub-chairs, AAPD Trustee and CDA liaison.
  8. Assist Board Officers – correspondence as needed.
  9. Assist the AMC with the preparation of dues statements not handled by AAPD, as well as a secondary statement, and keep the Membership services chair as well as the Board of Directors updated on membership status.
  10. Assist the AMC with the proper distribution of Society mail to the proper officer, committee chair or member
  11. Respond to questions or inquiries by the AMC or direct the AMC to the  proper source.
  12. Update the Society policy manual or documents as directed by the CSPD President or Executive Committee.

B. BOARD MEETINGS

  1. Attend all Board Meetings
  2. With the assistance of the AMC, arrange for site and services (hotel/meeting room/lunch) at quarterly board meetings not associated with the Annual Meeting.
  3. Assist the AMC with travel or lodging arrangements for Board members to board meetings not associated with the Annual Session.
  4. Assist and supervise the AMC with meeting notices 30 days in advance.

C. ANNUAL MEETING

  1. Assist the Annual Meeting Chair in coordination of activities.
  2. With the assistance of the AMC, negotiate contracts associated with the hotel/resort sites chosen for the Annual Session. Maintain a record for all communications concerning the Annual Session.
  3. Assist the AMC with the preparation of mailings, information and registration material provided by the Annual Meeting Chair.
  4. Assist the AMC with the collection and record registration fees for the Annual Session.
  5. Assist and keep track of moneys received to the Annual Session account and provide the Chair with updated reports.

D. ADMINISTRATIVE AIDE TO THE TREASURER

  1. Assist the AMC with appropriate reports for the Treasurer.
  2. Assist the AMC and Treasurer with CPA contact for yearly Federal and State information returns and appropriate attachments (1099, etc).
  3. Assist the Treasurer in budget preparation.

E. BULLETIN LIAISON

  1. Assist the CSPD editor and AMC with the production and distribution of the CSPD Bulletin.

F. MISCELLANEOUS

  1. Be able to respond to questions of the CSPD leadership in a timely manner
  2. Be able to respond to deadlines
  3. Provide administrative expertise and supervise the actions of the AMC.
  4. Attend and represent CSPD at meetings of AAPD, CDA, ADA, WSPD and all other organizations at the direction of the CSPD President and Board of Directors.
